Lubricating oil is composed of base oil and additives. Base oil mainly includes petroleum base oil (mainly mineral base oil), synthetic oil (synthetic base oil), and animal and vegetable oil. Mineral base oil is widely used and used in large quantities (about 95% or more), but some applications must use products blended with synthetic base oil and bio-oil base oil, which has led to the rapid development of these two base oils. Base oil has the basic characteristics of lubricating oil and certain performance properties, but relying solely on improving the processing technology of lubricating oil cannot produce lubricating oil with all performances that meet the use requirements.Additives are the essence of modern advanced lubricants. Careful selection, careful balance, and reasonable deployment of additives based on the quality and performance required of lubricants are the key to ensuring lubricant quality.Commonly used additives include: viscosity index improver, pour point depressant, antioxidant, detergent dispersant, friction moderator, oiliness agent, extreme pressure additive, anti-foaming agent, metal passivator, emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor, rust inhibitor, demulsifier, antioxidant and corrosion inhibitor, etc. Careful selection, careful balance and reasonable deployment of additives according to the quality and performance required by lubricants are the key to ensuring the quality of lubricants.
